NKDWARE POP-UP - LONDON

NKDWARE

Nkdware Pop-up 2021 – Angel, London, UK

The Nkdware pop-up shop and ceramics exhibition was part of the London Design Festival. The exhibition showcased Nkdware’s two ceramic collections: The Potter’s Wheel Collection and The Lift Collection, both exploring the making process on a potter’s wheel.

The exhibition design reflected Nkdware’s pure aesthetic, with natural materials placed at the center of the spatial concept. Naked wood and clean, minimal shelving—custom-made for the exhibition—supported the earthy and pastel color palette of the ceramic collections.

In addition to showcasing the products, I wanted to introduce a more experimental element that highlighted the ceramics-making process itself. I created a concept called Off-Centre Workshop, referencing the centering process of clay on the potter’s wheel. When the clay is not perfectly centered, it can create beautiful, wobbly shapes.

The exhibition included a potter’s wheel where visitors could try making these wobbly ceramics themselves. Their creations were then added to the installation, which gradually grew and evolved day by day throughout the duration of the pop-up.
